Those are pretty briny. They're the "go-to" oyster up here, in that if you order oysters without specificity, they're what you're likely to get.thor iversonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16189098900228936573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-272356477626694495.post-12450955238825310852008-04-19T13:10:00.000-07:002008-04-19T13:10:00.000-07:00Joe-That is totally shocking. They are wrong, BTW, none of them could make this wine. It has to do with the confluence of grape, climate, etc. that is most likely not reproducible.

The mushroom dish was that recipe you stole for creamed morrels that you just brought back from Montana.the vlmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01721550516880594363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-272356477626694495.post-86978662569891685152008-04-19T13:07:00.000-07:002008-04-19T13:07:00.000-07:00Jim-I wouldn't worry about the Breze, it is always...Jim-

I wouldn't worry about the Breze, it is always like that. In fact, I think 2002 will end up being a very successful vintage. The barrels are really top quality, so a bit of oakiness doesn't hurt. Give it 5 years before you try one. Should be a very long-lived wine.

You should buy as much Croix Boissee as you feel prudent. A great wine from a great site. You should also pick up some 2004 if you are able.the vlmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01721550516880594363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-272356477626694495.post-62423608327295612132008-04-19T08:58:00.000-07:002008-04-19T08:58:00.000-07:00It was funny how badly received that Ameztoi rosad...It was funny how badly received that Ameztoi rosado was by some of your favorite winemakers. "Cider," one said. "All you have to do is bottle in December before your fermentation is done," said another.

I don't get it, but there you are.

SFJ

And thanks for the kind words about whatever the mushrooms were.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14416883255959138934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-272356477626694495.post-16086310241360007552008-04-19T03:52:00.000-07:002008-04-19T03:52:00.000-07:00Sorry to hear about the Breze - I have two bottles...Sorry to hear about the Breze - I have two bottles and that description sounds like I won't like them at all. Aging is the only choice, I guess.
The 2005 Croix I had about two months ago was beautiful and I have a bunch for the cellar. I thought it was about as Chinon could get.
Ah, NYC, I do miss it . . .
Best, JimFlorida Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08425683028082383050noreply@blogger.com
